The Fault in Our Stars: Favorite Quotes

Hey everybody! I feel like I miss you all and miss writing tremendously.

So I have continued my journey of reading TFiOS (genius, catchy acronym) and I’m coming across some great lines that are being added to my favorite quotes list. Interestingly enough, while searching relevant images, many of my favorite quotes seem to be other peoples favorites as well. Most images are provided, and some, I will happily type and add to the list.

Its been interesting. I’m reading this book much slower than others I have recently read but it’s definitely not due to me enjoying it any less. I could even say, some I read quickly, though I liked, this one I have come to fancy more so far.

I believe I must be taking it all in. Previously, I had placed the book down and devoured another in one night, The Selection. I do know why though. I was having a rough week and reading this emotionally heavy story (TFiOS) was something I wisely chose not to partake in momentarily. I decided to reach over for a fun, light-hearted YA romance instead.

Returning to this story now, I’m choosing to savor it, relish in the small moments, and words said. I decided to pause and dedicate this post to some quotes that are becoming my favorite. I called this Part One because I have yet to finish the book. I’m on page 162 (about mid-way).

I have genuinely enjoyed the interactions between Hazel and Augustus. The dialogue is so clever and witty, you feel your insides smile throughout many of them. I love all the fanart I have come across in relations to this book. So many of them have captured beautifully, and perfectly the essence of John Green’s imagination which he put pen to paper for our indulgence.

So this is exactly, funny enough, where I am in the book. This very moment…

I am enjoying this book and dreading whats to come. I fear certain conclusion that are being assumed within my brain but I refuse to entertain them because I’m not ready for them. 

On a personal note…I believe subconsciously, my mind is taking this story in slowly, with precaution. Of all the times to be reading this, I’m doing so on the month, where it will be a year since a loved one unexpectedly left us and it concluded with cancer.

Even though written, it’s as though I just said that out loud, which I had yet to do and will now quickly dismiss because I am not ready and have a week and a half till it must be faced; experienced…

Once finished, part two of favorite quotes, will soon follow. I’m sure there is much I missed from the first few chapters which I remember fondly laughing, or smiling in public to myself about.

Hey everyone stumbling onto this post. I wrote this post A WHILE back and since then (especially with the movie recently coming out) have fallen in love with this story even more. Interesting, I believe when I first wrote this, I intended to create a Part two of quotes. Seeing where I was in the story when I ended this piece, I realize why Part two never happened…I was probably mourning after finishing the story.
