Jennifer L. Armentrout’s publishing, Entangled Teen have released newly bound covers to the Lux series. So far, there are four books currently available in the series: Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, and Origin. Now, they are two per book and look like this:
Each of these FAT, bendy books is half a face that are of the same girl…but don’t match. We’re not going to get into the covers. I…yeah, let’s not. What I will get into is my anticipation to finally getting my hands on this series. I’m not so much of a paranormal reader but this to me is more Sci-Fi romance due to the HOT alien. I mean, they’re all gorgeous but there’s only one I have my eyes set on and that is Daemon. Snarky, infuriating, cocky, gorgeous, sexy, loving Daemon. Yep.
I have heard many praises for Jennifer L. Armentrout’s writing and books. Other than this series, her ‘Covenant‘ series is also raved about along with her New Adult Wait for You series which was my first impression of Mrs. Jennifer/J. Lynn/Armentrout. I love that New Adult series and can’t wait for Stay with Me!
My Friday began at my local Barnes and Nobles. Why? Other than the fact that it’s a magical place full of books? Well, it was because stunning little Miss Chloe Grace Moretz was going to be there signing ‘If I Stay’ books in preparation for the upcoming movie adaptation. It was a fun experience that ended with me getting advanced screening tickets. Hell to the yeah!
If I Stay: Book Tour Recap –
A long morning waiting for the event line to start forming leading to a crazy array of teenagers running you over when the time came, but alas, I met this awesome and crazy bunch of gals who helped the time for by quicker. Below is the best sign of the entire event!
These four young ladies were so sweet and excited to see Chloe Grace Moretz.
This was by far one of the coolest things to happen. A Page to Premiere reader asked our social network site to meet up and say hello to the reporter on site which was me! She found me and we commemorated the moment with a selfie. Such a sweetheart! It was very cool to meet her!
Catching this face on camera was priceless. My new friend from the line was complimenting Chloe on being a great role model for the younger generation and this was Chloe’s face responding, “You’re SO sweet!”
And my new friend achieved her goal by getting that selfie! The awesome poster said, “Hey Chloe, IF I STAY (get it) around, can we take a selfie?”
All in all, it was a great book signing event. I walked away with my ‘If I Stay’ book signed, a movie poster, and ADVANCED SCREENING TICKETS to the movie!
Weekend Book Series Binge: The LUX Series
When I got home Friday, though EXHAUSTED, I was too excited to crack this book open! Pretty much three chapters in, I was kicking myself for not having the next two books. Oh, yeah. I knew where this was going…So, come Saturday, I may or may not have scrounged for pennies, then drove my happy butt to the bookstore to get the other FAT, bendy book with the FACE. I read through Obsidian and Onyx Friday night and all Saturday. Come Sunday, I was starting Opal. Dude and Dudettes…I read over 800 pages in two and a half days. That is freaking unreal for me to think about…And though to others, it may have seemed as though I had no life that weekend…PFFT! It was the most glorious of times.
I have been LOVING this series so hard. I was gushing about it on the phone with the bestie when she called during her twelve hour drive from Texas back home to Missouri. I read her a few pages of Daemon’s ridiculousness when Blake came into the picture in Book Two. Oh, man. Hilarious. I have won over another desired reader of the series. You’re welcome Mrs. Armentrout. *wink*
Here are my Goodreads Reading Progress statuses. I try not to ever technically post spoilers so I’m almost certain it is free to take a gander below…These are the status for FAT book one called, LUX: Beginnings which features Obsidian and Onyx.
Below are my status for Book Three: Opal from the second FAT book called, LUX: Consequences which features both Opal and Origin.
I am currently still at 43% of the book due to life happening. My brother ended up in the hospital Tuesday morning after being up till the wee hours Monday sick. We’ve been at the hospital all these days but “YAY” he just came home tonight. He is doing better so we’re all happy about that. He’s still not 100% but we’re taking care of him and hoping he will be 100% soon.
I started writing this blog post a few days ago so these four books were the only ones available…until TUESDAY! The last book in THE LUX SERIES: Opposition came out! And…well…
Oh yes, my friends! I have sparkly Daemon in my possession and I can’t wait to see how this series ends. It will be bitter sweet, I’m sure but super stoked!
What’s THE LUX SERIES books about, you ask? Well, let me help you with that, in case you’re interested. *wink* Off to Goodreads! *waves wand*
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…
No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger… and they know it.
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
And there you have it friends! Don’t let the ugly covers (especially the older ones) fool you! If you love ALIENS in High School a la Roswell (TV Show) and sprinkle The Host on it but more bad ass, with more snarky, witty, HILARIOUS dialogue, and great sexual tension between the Katy and Daemon who HATE each other at first meeting, then go on and get your copies of this wonderful series! I’ll make sure to come back and gush or vent about whether or not I felt it was a satisfactory ending to the series.
